Release Notes

The latest release of the Symphony Framework (v2.0.0.1) contains a number of enhancements:

We have implemented a whole new program structure called CRUD (Create/Read/Update/Delete). These programs allow you to create rich single structure/file maintenance programs with dynamic query and selection capabilities.

The CRUD programs use a new background loaded view model for the lookup selection list. This view model loads items into the selection list on a background worker thread and thus does not block the UI thread. You can limit the number of entries that will be loaded into the list and the view model also provides the ability for the user to cancel the load at any time. Loading of the data is performed using the powerful Select class within Synergy.

A new Visibility template has been added that allows you to flag fields as being visible or hidden on a UserControl or Window. This new class is used by the selection lookup within the new CRUD applications to allow the user to tailor the selection criteria and the resulting selection list columns.

The Symphony Framework now has a new Symphony.Conductor.DataIO namespace. In this new namespace are the base file IO and file selection classes utilized by the new CRUD programs. You can utilise these base classes by using the SymphonyFileIO.tpl and SymphonySelect.tpl tempaltes to provide file based and select based access to your Synergy DBMS data files.

New capabilities within the Symphony Data Objects require that you re-generate your data objects using the latest Symphony_Data.tpl template.

To install and use the latest version of the Symphony Framework you MUST install the latest 9.5.3b hotfix available from Synergex. Please contact the support department to obtain the latest hotfix files.
